Elucidata, LLC announces the release of DropList, a new Foundation™ Building Block.

What is it?
DropList is an alternative to the built-in choice list feature of 4th Dimension. It mimics the functionality of pop-up lists in Filemaker and is particularly useful in situations where manual data entry is intensive. DropList allows data entry from pre-defined 4D Lists that are anchored to the form field or variable receiving the choice, while at the same time preventing any unwanted entries. The operation of DropList can be accomplished entirely via the keyboard utilizing "type-ahead" selection of list items. This functionality eliminates the time-consuming task of grabbing the mouse and clicking, as is required with 4D drop-down lists and combo-boxes. DropList choice lists are automatically triggered upon entry into a field or variable via tabbing or mouse-click. User choices are auto-entered via the Return key or by double-clicking on a list item.
